Chapter 267-2 RECYCLING AND WASTE REDUCTION GRANT PROGRAM
Rule 267-2-.01 Purpose
The purpose of the Recycling and Waste Reduction Grant Program is to provide financial assistance to Georgia general purpose local governments (cities and counties) and regional solid waste management authorities as they work to foster recycling and solid waste source reduction programs.

O.C.G.A. 50-23-5 provides statutory authorization, program is funded by State Solid Waste Trust Funds as established by O.C.G.A. 12-8-27.1.
Rule 267-2-.04 The General Scope and Purpose of the Grant Program
To help Georgia local governments develop new or enhance existing recycling and municipal solid waste reduction programs.
Rule 267-2-.05 General Terms and Conditions of the Grant
Local governments and solid waste management authorities are funded up to a maximum of $200,000.00. Total allowable state grant for each successful applicant is $200,000.00.
Rule 267-2-.06 Eligible Recipients of the Grant
Individual Georgia local governments or authorities or coalitions of local governments may apply. Applications will be accepted from individual or multiple local governments or solid waste management authorities.
Rule 267-2-.07 The Criteria for the Award of the Grant
Local governments must have in place or must demonstrate an interest in forming recycling and/or solid waste reduction programs for reducing municipal solid waste destined for disposal. Consideration will be given to the number of local governments involved in the proposal and the proposed project or activity budget. To receive grant funds, local governments must be a Qualified Local Government and have or be included in an approved solid waste management plan. Proposed projects must be demonstrated to be consistent with the solid waste management plan.
Rule 267-2-.08 Directions and Deadlines for Applying for Such Grant
Applications will be accepted beginning November 30, 2007 and ending January 30, 2007. Facsimile copies will not be accepted or considered for funding. One original plus 5 copies of the application should be mailed to:
